Junior Asset Manager – Retail

Belgrave Search Partners is working with a rapidly growing real estate business looking to appoint a Junior Asset Manager to its London team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an MRICS-qualified property professional looking to make the move from property management into asset management. Working closely with highly experienced senior members of the business, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to the commercial and strategic management of a portfolio of retail assets.

The role would suit someone with a strong grounding in retail property management who now wants to broaden their experience and develop into a well-rounded asset manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting the development and implementation of asset-level business plans

• Working across leasing, occupier strategy, rent reviews, lease renewals and other value-enhancing initiatives

• Monitoring asset performance, budgets and cash flows

• Reviewing and managing service charge budgets and expenditure

• Working closely with property managers, leasing agents and other external advisers

• Supporting refurbishment, repositioning and capital expenditure initiatives

• Preparing internal reporting and analysis on portfolio performance

• Building relationships with occupiers and other key stakeholders

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

• MRICS qualification, preferably with around 2 years’ PQE

• Experience within retail property management, ideally including exposure to shopping centres or other multi-let retail assets

• Strong knowledge of service charges and service charge budgeting

• Good commercial awareness and an interest in the investment performance of real estate

• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills

• A genuine desire to transition into and build a career within asset management
