Retail Asset Manager - Shopping Centres

Belgrave Search Partners is working with an established real estate investment business looking to appoint a Retail Asset Manager to its London team.

The business owns and manages a significant portfolio of UK shopping centres and is looking to strengthen its asset management team with an individual who can take ownership of a number of assets and drive performance through proactive, commercially focused asset management.

This is a broad role offering considerable responsibility across the portfolio, with a particular emphasis on developing and executing asset strategies, strengthening income and identifying opportunities to enhance long-term value.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing and implementing individual asset business plans

• Driving leasing strategy across the portfolio, including new lettings, renewals, regears and other key lease events

• Identifying opportunities to grow income, improve occupancy and enhance capital value

• Reviewing tenant mix and identifying opportunities to improve the overall occupier proposition

• Monitoring occupier performance, footfall, sales and other key asset-level metrics

• Identifying opportunities to reposition, reconfigure or enhance assets

• Preparing and monitoring budgets, forecasts and asset-level performance

• Assessing and delivering capital expenditure and value-add initiatives

• Managing and challenging external property managers, leasing agents and professional advisers

• Building strong relationships with key occupiers and other stakeholders

• Producing high-quality reporting and presenting asset strategies and recommendations to senior stakeholders

• Supporting acquisitions, disposals and wider portfolio initiatives where appropriate

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have experience within UK commercial real estate, with direct exposure to shopping centres or the wider retail sector. You will have a strong understanding of the key commercial drivers of shopping centre performance and be comfortable taking ownership of assets and their respective business plans.

You will be commercially minded, analytical and proactive, with the ability to identify opportunities and translate strategy into execution. Experience across leasing, landlord and tenant matters, business planning and financial analysis will be important.
